The thing that I like about sectionals is is the simplicity of one piece one shape but often sectionals don't work in a lot of spaces because they don't provide the flexibility to have a lamp or a place to put a drink. Or you know beverage books and things on the side right next to where you're seating.
So, that's why I tend to lean towards having a corner table versus a sectional, but the key elements to think of when you're trying to decide is will the self would be open to the whole space? Do you can you give up that corner for to not have the table and have more seating? Is there a way to have a floor, lamp or a lamp that will come over the sectional provide lighting? If you want to sit there and read, and if you don't have the luxury to give up that space, then perhaps the sectional is the best option for you.
Small sectional sofa for your living room. I'm often asked the question on when to use a sectional are great for either large spaces or for tight spaces. They offer the flexibility to provide more seating within a smaller footprint and really the biggest reason. Why is because they utilize the corner instead of a table for seating, so that will give you more seating capacity.
