Low profile sectional sofa doesn't work in a lot of spaces because they don't provide the flexibility to have a lamp or a place to put a drink. Or you know beverage books and things on the side right next to where you're seating. So, that's why I tend to lean towards having a corner table versus a sectional, but the key elements to think of when you're trying to decide is will the self would be open to the whole space.
Do you can you give up that corner for to not have the table and have more seating? Is there a way to have a floor, lamp or a lamp that will come over the sectional provide lighting? If you want to sit there and read, and if you don't have the luxury to give up that space, then perhaps the sectional is the best option for you. Sectionals are great for small spaces because they can provide a nice functional corner for seating and let you have the capacity to seat more but in a corner. Perhaps if you did a rounded or diagonal back, it'll give you space in the corner to have a floor.
The lamp behind the sofa to illuminate where you might sit and read so think about how your corner would work. If that's, where you're going to put your sectional or seating arrangement and see if a sectional or a table with flanks Bias, sofa and a chair or a loveseat, are better suited for your space.
